What makes E-tunez so unique? 

E-tunez is a small Canadian company based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba, perhaps less affectionately known as Winterpeg Manisnowba. We got our start many users ago as the unique climate here (with annual temperature swings between 100F and -40F) allowed proper calibration of IAT (Intake Air Temperature) and ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) swings to proper engine function in the harshest of conditions, conditions that even OEMs might not have seen. You would be surprised at how many factory JDM gauges bottom out at -30°C (-22°F) and could not read colder. In fact, our first 8thGen Si FA5 that we bought new in 2008, was driven up to Thompson Manitoba for 6 months, the same place where Ford keeps their “Extreme Cold Weather Testing Facility”, and we can verify it saw local temperatures as cold as -44°C.

So the question of what makes use unique, is both a simple and hard question to answer. In simplicity, the answer is “we care” about proper calibration. In long, that means we have to go above and beyond to make sure we pay attention to all the details, not just in the logs, and in varied operating conditions but in your emails too. It means we have to answer quickly, and get revisions back to you as soon as possible, it means that we have to fully answer all your questions with excellent trouble shooting skills, advice and technical information. That is the “what” to the question, the “how” is answering, how we plan to do that. We have been E-tuning since the name was invented and our tuners have been working with tuning solution developers since their product release date, in some cases before. All of our tuners own and drive the same vehicle they are tuning for and the experience they have gained for themselves over the years is made available to you.

We are enthusiasts as well, and our dedication reflects that. We offer services for free, like datalog review, recommended upgrade paths, diagnosis and tuning suggestions. We believe there should be no secrets, we openly share our tuning techniques, and we leave our tunes unlocked because “real tuning” isn’t just copy and paste, its all in the details, and those details are always changing just like the environment your car operates in. Every revision we send includes notes to tell you what was done so you can keep fully aware of what is changing in the process, and even if you don’t purchase a tune from us, we will still supply quality advice on how to resolve an issue or better your tune.

Some tuners would have you believe your engine is so complex that you simply can’t comprehend the tuning process so just “trust” it’s done right. What if its not? Do they follow up on your tune down the road and will they stand behind their work if you run into an issue down the road? At E-tunez we know that “trust us” isn’t good enough, there needs to be more accountability. You deserve to know what’s being uploaded to YOUR ECU, and how those values were selected? If you have got this far, you most likely have a good understanding of the basics and we will share our solutions with you on a professional level. We don’t believe in keeping secrets and will keep things open. There are no secrets or hidden tunes, as we believe this goes against very nature of the internet on which E-tuning is based.

As E-tunez grows, with your support, so will the website and available technical information. We hope to make this website a resource for you and more then business. The reality is that quality takes time, and quality time is money. Many of our E-tuners have invested 100’s of hours free of charge diagnosing tunes and sharing information so when you purchase from E-tunez you allow the time they spend helping the community to provide an income at fair and reasonable rates.
